Redmi K60 Gaming will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
The Redmi K60 Gaming that comes with model number 23011310C has been spotted on the IMEI database. Xiaomiui reports suggest that the device is codenamed Socrates and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The report further claims that the codename of the undeclared processor is Kailua. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is said to use TSMC’s manufacturing process.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is expected to be unveiled during the Snapdragon Tech Summit in the coming weeks. As per the leak, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be based on TSMC’s 4nm process and will have a 1+2+2+3 core configuration. The flagship processor could sport Cortex X3 cores, two Cortex A720 cores, two Cortex A720 cores, and three Cortex A510 cores.
Based on the model number, the Xiaomiui report claims that the Redmi K60 Gaming will launch in the Chinese market in early 2023. Also, the report claims that the Redmi K60 Gaming will not be released in markets outside China, not even as a POCO rebrand. For those unaware, Redmi K40 Gaming and Redmi K50 Gaming were launched as POCO F3 GT and POCO F4 GT in the global markets. Xiaomiui says that due to the response received for the POCO F4 GT, the company has decided to keep the Redmi K60 Gaming as a China exclusive.
So far, only this information has come in terms of the specifications of Redmi K60 gaming. Most of the details about the Redmi K60 Gaming are still a secret. According to the old news, a 2K screen can be found in the Redmi K60 models, which will have a punch-hole in the top center. An in-display fingerprint sensor can also be found on the phone. According to reports, this smartphone lineup will support a 50MP primary camera, which could be the Sony IMX766 sensor.
The new Redmi K60 series will be the successor to the company’s Redmi K50 lineup. In India, the company introduced the Redmi K50i smartphone, which is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. This smartphone starts from Rs 24,999. Highlights of this device include a 144Hz screen, which comes with features like Dolby Vision and HDR10.
This phone gets a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup and a 16MP selfie camera is available in front. This device has a 5080mAh battery, which supports 67W fast charging.
