Vivo X90 Series Spotted on Geekbench Ahead of Launch on Nov 22

The Vivo X90 series will be launched soon.  The company has confirmed that the X90 series will be launched in China on 22 November 2022, and is expected to be available in other markets in the coming weeks.  Vivo will launch three of its smartphones in the lineup.  Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G will be topped with premium hardware.  There will also be X90 and X90 Pro 5G.  Ahead of the launch, one of the three Vivo X90 phones has been spotted on the Geekbench website.

The listing on the Geekbench website suggests that the device could be Vivo X90 or X90 Pro.  We say this based on a recent Geekbench listing, which suggests that the X90 Pro+ 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.  The X90 Pro and X90 are said to feature the new flagship SoC from MediaTek.  So friends, through the Geekbench website, we know the specifications, features, and other details of the Vivo X90 series in detail.

Vivo X90 Series Geekbench Listing

The model number of the Vivo X90 series device listed on the Geekbench website is V2241A.  It could be Vanilla X90 or X90 Pro.  The listing reveals that the X90 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC and the SoC was unveiled earlier this month and features a new ARM Immortalis G715 GPU.  The Dimensity 9200 SoC is based on a 4nm process and comes with a peak clock speed of 3.05GHz thanks to the Prime Cortex-X3 core.  The SoC also comes with three performance ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.85GHz.  There are four Cortex A510 efficiency cores, clocked at 1.8GHz.

The X90 series smartphone listed on Geekbench has 12GB of RAM and will run on Android 13 out-of-the-box.  Vivo will launch its smartphone on top of Android with the latest Origin OS software update.  When launched in India and other markets, the X90 series will run Funtouch OS 13 out of the box.

The listing also reveals that the X90 series phones scored 1353 and 4055 respectively in Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-core tests.  The leaked GPU benchmark results of the SoC have revealed that it beats the Dimensity 9000+ SoC, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and even Apple’s A16 Bionic SoC.

We will know in a few days whether the leaked GPU score was accurate or not as the X90 series is all set to officially debut on November 22.  The X90 series could be the first smartphone series to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC.  A lot has already been leaked about the devices.

Vivo X90 Series Specifications and Features

The report claims that the X90 will launch in four storage options – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB.  The device will be launched in three colors – Black, Ice Blue, and Red.

According to the report, the X90 Pro will launch with three storage options.  The Pro model will pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.  There will also be 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage options.  The device will be launched in Black and Red color options.

The top-of-the-line X90 Pro+ 5G will launch with two storage options.  Both options will have 12GB of RAM.  The base model will have 256GB of internal storage, while the other variant will have 512GB of memory.  The X90 Pro+ 5G will be launched in Black and Red colors.

In terms of specifications, as per the Geekbench listing, the X90 Pro+ 5G will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. It will come with a 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The phone will also likely use a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP main camera sensor. There will be a 48MP ultrawide camera sensor with a 50MP tele-portrait lens. The phone is also said to have a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera. The X90 Pro+ 5G will house a 5000mAh battery and will support 100W/120W fast charging. It will also support 50W wireless charging. Also, both devices could sport an upgraded 1.5K AMOLED display with curved edges. There will be a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP main camera sensor. The vanilla X90 is also said to pack a 4700mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
